もし私だけの「個展」を開けるなら、テーマは『オタマトーンがつなぐ笑顔の輪』です。
「オタマトーン」は、電池で動くかわいらしい「おもちゃ」です。でも実は、指の感覚だけで音程を合わせる、とても奥が深い楽器でもあります。
私は今、このオタマトーンの仲間を増やしたいと思っています。先日もシニアの方々に向けたオンラインイベントを開き、演歌の『津軽海峡・冬景色』を演奏しました。あのかわいい見た目から本格的な演歌が流れた瞬間、画面越しに皆さんの弾けるような笑顔が見られました。
さらに今回は、私が作った「Webアプリ」を使ってもらい、画面越しに演奏を体験してもらいました。「自分にもできた！」と喜んでもらえただけでなく、私の研究テーマである「定年後の暮らし」についてのアンケートも集めることができ、まさに一石二鳥のイベントになりました。
「おもちゃ」という親しみやすいきっかけから、音楽を楽しみ、定年後の新しい繋がりを作っていく。この個展を通して、そんなオタマトーンの仲間をどんどん増やしていきたいです。

The Otamatone is a cute toy powered by batteries. However, it is actually a profound musical instrument that relies entirely on your finger’s sense to hit the right notes.

Currently, I am working to bring more Otamatone enthusiasts together. Recently, I held an online event for seniors and performed the famous Enka song, “Tsugaru Kaikyo Winter Scenery." When genuine Enka music flowed from its adorable appearance, big smiles burst out across the screen.

Furthermore, I had participants try playing using a Web app I developed myself. Not only were they thrilled to find that they could play, but I was also able to collect survey data for my research on “life after retirement," making it a truly killing-two-birds-with-one-stone event.
